After a grueling summer and fall of cleaning, tearing down, and re building…the apartment is complete! I successfully moved in on my 22nd birthday without a working bathroom and no heat…I was determined to be moved in by my birthday the latest. Luckily, a week later the bathroom was up and running and two weeks later my shower was functioning. Up until that point, I was lucky enough to have an aunt downstairs to mooch off of for a warm shower! It took me about a month to get really settled and acquire furniture. My apartment is decorated fabulously with vintage finds from the clean up, Ikea furniture, and Craigslist and Etsy finds. We had quite the challenge moving my things in as the windy staircases weren’t too modern furniture friendly. All in all, it was a successful move and I couldn’t be happier with my cozy little third floor apartment. As for the pictures, the final product is here!

The living room view from the kitchen. I am in LOVE with this gold chair that I found on craigslist. Vintage and in great condition-matches the mirror perfectly!

The kitchen from the living room-chalk board paint on the bottom of the bar is so fun! I can’t wait to decorate it with a tree and little bulb drawings. I also love this bakers rack-currently using it as my own little mini bar!

The office/bedroom. Love the divider-doubles as a book shelf!

Kitchen-have a great pantry and new stove with hood. I wish I could have kept the vintage stove hood but it was no good! I am working on finding a way to get this floor restored, but for now just loving the pink tiles!

My cozy bedroom! Needs one more dresser and I will be all set!

A kitchen sink!! -If you look back to the first installment of my renovation blog postings, you will see that there was never a kitchen sink!! We found a way to run the pipes from here into the bathroom and under the tub-which is the reason I had the misfortune of having my garbage disposal explode into my tub. You can also see my new wall decal of a clock! Love it-Etsy finds are the best.

The bathroom! No longer a missing floor and whole in the wall! Love the vanity-the bathroom still needs some shelving and maybe a makeup vanity, but it’s coming together nicely from what it was!

Another view of the bathroom-I plan to add a vanity with the little school house chair I reinvented. Who knew that tiny chair would be so perfect for this bathroom!

The tub!! Can you believe it?! I didn’t even expect it to come out this nice considering what it looked like when I started! It took 6 magic erasers, 4 brillo pads, and a gallon of bleach but it is looking wonderful! Helpful hint to any other young professionals out there living on their own for the first time: magic erasers clean EVERYTHING! Always have at least 3 in your apartment.
